Welcome to The Country Corner Restaurant and Gift Shop where we treasure our heritage. In the historic town of Brigus, we serve Newfoundland food with pride, and highlight Newfoundland products, including books, CDs, knits, and pottery in our gift shop.

Our premises was originally built in 1914, when it housed The Bank of Nova Scotia. 

It was purchased in the early 1930's by the late J. W. Hiscock (grandfather of the present owner) as the centre of his Labrador fish  business.  It remained as an office for the company of J. W. Hiscock Sons Limited until the early 1970's when the office was moved to their new fish plant on the water front. 

The Country Corner opened for business on June 15, 1993.
